This great vid of the Single track mind race at Rydal was just posted over at rotorburn.
I enjoyed it so much I thought I'd reshare
The Friendly ride
For those who haven't checked Rydal yet (and those that have)

The Friendly Ride: A good excuse to come and ride rydal
The main rd in has been dusty as all get up so in an effort to keep on the good side of the locals it might be best to come in via the showground.
From the highway come into Rydal, cross the train tracks and take a left before the Pub (Showground signposted.)
Go around the top side of the show ground and follow the road around to the left. This will take you around towards the top side of the cemetery. from there a couple of cross rd will bring you back tot he bicentennial trail and thus the car park
As discussed here http://nobmob.com/node/30806
Andy Friend is riding down the Bicentennial National trail to raise money for Brain Injury Australia.
So with that in mind we've teed up to meet him and do a few laps of the XC trail and then escort him 15km up the Bicentennial Trail to the Bark Ridge property where the owners will put on a BBQ to help raise money.(an idea of numbers before hand would be nice so if you can come on up let me know)
Fun one
A good strong roll up for this one. Looks like as day light increases so does rider numbers.
Just before the start I realised I had gotten oil on my pads. The rear was doing nothing, the front was best described as a speed retardation device.
For once I got in a small warm up and after the last couple of weeks of sprinting off the start and blowing up halfway around the first lap I tried to settle down on the start and build into it.
Tuff one
Top race tonight.
The new section Richard cut in on the weekend was interesting and will definitely be a nice addition once it beds in.. Over all I think the track was the grippiest it's been. The rain over the weekend done it a world of good.
I got off to an OK start but it didn't take Beggsie long to round me up and push the pace. I tried my best to stay with him but he was riding like a demon. Brett was on my heals too and at the first fire road climb he blew past like I was standing still.
Sweeeeeet
Well it was a little chilly out there but it didn't take long to warm up.
I followed Barnsie up into the single trail and he set a nice pace as we headed up the little climb for the first time. Brett was nipping at my heals and we openned a little gap on the rest of the field.
Then Barnsie jumps off his bike and start running. The angle log had caused him some drama in practice so he choose a safer cyclocross method. I bunny hop he log and almost land on top of him, get shoved wide into the long grass but somehow manage to get around him as he remounts, Brett comes with me.
2011 CTMBC Winter XC series #5
From the highway come into Rydal and take a sharp left after crossing the railway. Follow the dirt road up past the houses. *Please* Be mindful of the locals, they bought places here to get away from the rat race so take it slow and keep noise to a minimum.
At the top of the hill take the left fork and follow the road past the cemetery.
Back to $10 entry fee this week as state forest fees have gone up
$5 for juniors
$15 for a day license
Please remember the dirt road leading to the cemetery is a residential street and we don't want to up set the locals so go slow and keep noise down... Actually considering the dust last week it might be best to go in via the showground so take the left before the pub and head around the top of the showground and follow the rd around to the left to just before the cemetery then duck back down to the Bicentennial trail and thus the car park
Nice hit out
Lovely night for ride.
the stars were out in force as Richard, Meggsie, Charlie and myself headed off around the first half of the Rydal loop. At the far end we headed leftonthe fire trail and took int he new stuff out through the diggings and then followed the railway line out to the highway.
After bit of dicking around trying to avoid the highway itself we gave up and ventured up the tarmac and across Pikes lane back to the western road and then ground our way up to Mt Lambie to Clints place.
