12th September 2015 at Mt Annan

My first race at Mt Annan, but this time I at least got to have a couple of exploratory laps the weekend before.

15th August 2015 at Stromlo Parklands

This race was so good. Stromlo was yet another place I'd never been to, but wow! . . I loved it. The four hours flew by. There was no wishing it was over, I just enjoyed this from start to finish. Even on the last lap, when I was really feeling tired, I still loved it. Then to top it off I even got my best result, so all in all it was a great day.

1st August 2015 at Ourimbah MTB Park

This race should have been held in July, but was delayed due to the weather, so there had been a fair time gap between races by the time this day came along. Ourimbah was yet another that was new to me. I have to say I quite liked it overall though.

Last round I had some sort of chest infection and couldn't breathe properly, resulting in me coughing through the entire length of the race. Today I was feeling healthier and I needed a decent result to shake doubts, caused from the last round, out of my head (I race for fun and I don't have to win, but I do have to feel like I improved, otherwise I feel disappointed).

Another Race Day

It was a cool and foggy morning (the view from the lookout as I drove past was amazing. . . you were above the clouds and thats all you could see). My warm up consisted mostly of sitting on my bike chatting and I can live with that. The social aspect is a key draw card for me participating in these events.

Not my best day, but it's all about getting out there. And on the funny side of things; I washed out the front, crashing right in front of the timing tent Sticking out tongue (apparently I was the third person to do this).

First up, I have to say that racing at Bathurst was a different experience. There were actually spectators and even cowbells and horns.

Secondly, this is a pretty cool track. Fast and flowing. The venue also has a velodrome and apparently there are plans to build a BMX track too.

Ok, so the race. . .

Shimano MTB GP 2015 Round 2

Category: GP4 Solo 40-49 Male

Current Category, Series position: 15th

I pulled the pin early on this race. I hadn't managed to get much sleep at all the night before and I was starting to make a lot of errors, so quit before I hurt myself (or anyone else).

My 2nd race at Wylde

I remember finishing my 4th lap and being stoked that I'd improved by one lap since my last race at Wylde. Then I realised the four hours wasn't up yet. . . So off I went out for my 5th lap Laughing out loud

This race will probably be a sentimental favourite for me for a while.

So I've owned my bike for nearly a month and I'm enjoying it so much I decide I should give racing ago. So what do I do? I enter an endurance race, 4 hour Solo. My friends tell me I'm crazy, but my thinking was I don't have to ride it like a "race". I can stop between laps and rest if I want. Hell, I can just do one lap and I'm done, if need be.
