BMORC 05 Jersey Last chance

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Last call if you want in on a BMORC Jersey or wish to make changes/additions to your current purchase. Monday night will be the cut off for payments to be made. Following that I will pay 05 and request to print. We will then be looking at roughly a 3 week turn around I believe. When I get the Jerseys I will arrange a social ride or 2 to hand out the Jerseys purchased. In the case that you can not make the social ride we will make arrangements to get the Jersey to you ASAP.

Weekend IMBA Workshop Training for BMORC with the NPWS

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

BMORC had their 2nd IMBA training workshop over the weekend. This included some "class" work but mostly a large amount of practical work on the trails at Yarramundi NP.

With the combined knowledge and input of Marty from IMBA and Scott from the NPWS there was an amazing level of practical knowledge and experience for us to all take on board.

We currently have 67 followers so I'm sure some of you are already aware, but if not this may be some exciting news.

The key feature of the Facebook page is it will share all news posts plus social rides and track day meetings automatically with a link back to BMORC.

Knapsack Build Day 11th Aug 2012

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well I think we all had a great day working on this section of track. It started off as a wide and redundant fire trail that was boring to ride and by the end of the day we had converted half to single track and the beginnings of a bushy, technical mountain bike trail.

Firstly a big thanks to the riders who gave their Saturday to working on this. Also big thanks to the council people Trish, Eric, Keiran and Steve for giving up their's too!

"Riders rail against Blackheath land sale" - Blue Mountains Gazette

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Blackheath residents continued their campaign against plans to sell council land at Hat Hill Road for housing on Sunday, July 8, holding a bike riding display at the local jump track which will be lost as part of the development.

Residents watched a display of bike riding skills before signing a new petition asking for more consultation on the contentious issue.

While the council has announced plans for a replacement track beyond the development site, local riders have not been won over by this concession.

“It is flat hard dirt, in full sun, right beside the road. It’s totally unsuitable, we wouldn’t use it,” said 16-year-old Will Commens.

New Banner!!!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well finally after 2 years we have a new banner and we can get rid of the one knocked up really quickly just because we needed a website.

Tim or ChopStiR got dumped with the task and he spent some time getting inspiration and at the build day got some. He presented this the other day and everyone just went yep!. It also includes his logo so that ties it all together nicely.

The sandstone in the picture is from the creek crossing we built the other day at Knapsack so there is a sort of tie in to us putting our wheels down on the trails we lobbied for.... or really its just snazzy!
