Howdy

Presuming a few of you will be attending ... I see this as a good opportunity to highlight what BMORC is about ... focusing on legitimate and sustainable trails and continued recreational access for MTBs.

This thread is for 2 reasons

i) See who is attending and more importantly willing to fly the BMORC flag
ii) Provide links, sound bites and general information that could help in the formulation of a leaflet or information piece, and assist those attending to communicate key aspects.

Thieves in the Mountains

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hey guys,

I know this is a MTB forum, but as most are from the mountains I thought I'd post a quick warning up here.

We were robbed today while we were at work. They got the TV, laptop, camera, guitar amp and pedals, my wifes jewelry etc.

They kicked in the back garage door, punching my bike handle bar through the gyprock. They left my bike, golf clubs, all our dvd's, my guitars etc. So only took items they could quickly unload for cash.

Cops say they are too busy to come out, so looks like these bastards will get away with it as usual.

I'm putting in a CRC order before the end of the week

Please don't bombard me with lots of fiddly little things
But i'm happy to share the order and free delivery
I have about $400 left before the $1000 cut off

Payment to me is by direct debit (I will send my bank details) or COD
Pick up from Wenty Falls or a group ride
Payment is due after my CC is debited
I may need your phone number, address and email esp if I don't know you

Note that prices can vary from what CRC says at checkout

Shift workers

Calling all shift workers or anybody else who can bludge days off mid week. I'm a shift worker who's weekends are mostly taken up by work or family time. As such 95 percent of my riding is done mid week.

Anybody else keen to get into some rides while the rest of the world works.

Todd got me thinking about some stickers ... and I found this free graphic design / logo site

http://www.logoease.com/LogoSamples.aspx?pageno=0

so had a bit of a muck around ... as you can tell I'm an accountant ... well I'm not really an accountant either but pffft.

If you know of a free site with better/more images or something where you can upload jpgs ... post up and let me know.

Rides in the Mudgee Area

Hi all,

Heading up to Mudgee next week for work. Might have some time in the afternoon to kill so if anyone knows of any rides out there and could let me know it would be appreciated.

The 5% rule and other ramblings

Out the other day having a dig and thinking about things

I was wondering how many riders actually contribute to the area they ride in
I wasn't thinking this in a critical or a holier than thou way - I was just interested

How many riders stop every so often to pick up that bit of rubbish
Remove that bloody root ball or sharp rock that pisses you off every time
Give the trail a bit of a much needed trim or rake
Even fix that berm or throw a bit more dirt on that roll over

Subtle things of course that add to everybody's experience

Upper mts night ride

Any one keen on an upper mts ride next Tuesday? Been thinking of dragging the crew up to check out either the Blackheath or Nth Lura trails but I've never ridden them.

Mt York Riding

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just did Berghoffers yesterday. The state of the track is about average. It got hammered a few months ago with the heavy rains, and there was a fair bit of erosion. This has settled down somewhat, but you still need to be reasonably careful over the loose stuff.

And I thought we'd be better of with a dedicated thread for Mt York, rather than wherever we were talking about it before, so I've just copied my earlier post below.

Just a thought:
