Riding near Forster

G'Day all,

Looking for a bit of info....... Dave_B and myself and a few others are heading up to Forster area in a few weeks to his holiday house. We are wondering if it is worth taking the bikes up.

Does anyone know of any decent single track around that area? We're about half way between Bulahdelah and Forster so anything near either of them would be cool, or further if its worth the drive.

We're only going to take the bikes if there are some good tracks close by. If not we'll stick with the kayaks.

Any info would be appreciated.......

Cheers,

Ian

I've still been experimenting with the software from time to time and created this wallpaper. I have also uploaded a High res logo for those that need it.

Mt Annan first impressions...

Hey guys,

So for all of those that went, what did you think?

I was very happy with what the Dirtz guys have done with the place. The track was fun all the way around, and I feel they made good use of the terrain. It certainly needs a lot of wheels over it as the surface was a bit loose. Those big yellow bridges were cool.

My favourite bit would have to be the start of the intermediate loop and the last run down the hill with all of those lovely berms, and the very last bit after the climb out of the yellow bridge section.

OK ... some tentative planning for the next couple weeks

My fitness is slowly coming back (not really, but better then usual I guess).

- The masochist in me still needs to tick the Ando's / Oaks double, even though I know its all boring FT with may too many hills.
- I still haven't done that scribblies thing I keep getting teased about.
- I haven't ridden Mundee in like 6 years ... maybe longer
- I also keep hearing about this Trig hike-a-bike mission
- I'd also like to ride lazo if its not grown over.

Being a curious bugger ... and also following the lead of those far sighted peeps that got Mt Annan going

I was thinking ... is there a similar place in the Mt Tomah gardens.

I have no idea what all that land is surrounding it, but my head started spinning ... Or is there stuff out there already ... I'm from Sydney ... I only know Northern Beaches and Menai innit Sad

Well i have been busy lately, getting this bit of track into rideable condition, it has fallen into disrepair from moto riders and bushwalkers not keeping it in condition, it is at the upper end of technical riding, lot of rock drops and rock shutes, it has an elevation drop of about 70 metres over a distance of about 200 metres, which makes it very steep, here are some photos, i wont disclose the location until it is finished and rideable!
