I heard on the ABC News this morning (7am Thurs 10 Oct) that all National Parks tracks are closed due to fire danger.

I think it would be wise to stay clear of YRP today - not only due to fire risk, but risk of falling tree branches during the strong winds.

Hi Ray, what happened to access to the section beyond the racetrack? I was out there last week and it seems its closed off?

This area has been closed off since Feb 2012 (!) when the bridges washed away. We continue to discuss this with NPWS - but the problem is the Plan of Management (PoM) only includes MTB south of Shaws Creek, even though the northern area has been used for many years. We believe (and can show) that this was an error in the PoM. Discussions have been held as high as the Minister on this matter. It's a long term issue to solve - but we keep at it.
