Not happy with SCOTT

So I was out ridding with BLKFOZ the other day doing a simple ride out to Gross Head Lookout. I popped my spark 60 over a few simple water bars and snapped the rear chainstay. I didn’t stack and the bike is still under warranty so at this point I wasn’t too annoyed.

A relaxing Sunday ride at Knapsack!

Great to see all the walkers with their dogs and having that conversation with the young couple regarding how positive it was to know that now that mountain bikers had adopted the park that council were funding the trails, I mentioned our fundraiser and the subject of adequate signage came up, they both thought it was fabulous that they would now be able to navigate areas of trail which they were hesitant to try as they were not quite sure where they led too.

Sydney 24hr

Hi guys Rob and I just did the Sydney 24hr taking on the 6x6 option. I managed 5 laps whilst Rob cracked out 7.0 km, 10km a lap with a 2km hill climb. Not bad for one wheel riders. Definition of a hot lap, riding 10km in the 42deg heat in direct sun with no shade. I must say that the first lap was the hardest ride that I have ever done on any bike. We placed first and second in category and got some great prizes and cheq beer.

Manly Dam track work

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just received following email and though I would post encased there are any riders in the area.

Good Afternoon Bike Riders,

We have engaged contractors to undertake vegetation trimming along the single use sections of track, and this work is scheduled to take place during the week of 7-11 February 2011.  Due to the use of power tools and the narrowness of the track, the track will need to be CLOSED while work is in progress for the safety of both riders and contractors.

Our thoughts are with Glen Jacobs from World Trail with the Cyclone about to hit his home town!

On behalf of BMORC we would like to offer this message of support to Glen his family and all the residents who are in the path of Cyclone Yasi, this formidable threat to their everyday lives defies comprehension.
Please say a prayer for our Queensland cousins we hope you all wake up safe and sound!

New BMORC Demographic

Spotted out on the trails this morning, little Gaby ripping the berms on his balance bike.

Great to see the family appeal and potential new users for good mountain bike trails.

26Inches.com

Hi all,

I have noticed a few users here who used to post on 26inches. What ever came of the 26inch forum. Although G has maintained the vestril virgin classic every thing else seems to have disappeared, Lab Gear was cetrainly a sad end to an era also.
Im interested to know how many riders in BMORC were are part of the old 26inches?

Back on the bike in the bush bash

After all the rain, the bike being away for a service, and me being stuck in the city for a couple of weeks, I'm dying to get back out in bush for a ride. My poor Spark's been overhauled and is sitting in the corner of the city flat giving me the dirty eye every time I come home and then go back out again without it.

So who's up for a ride in the upper mountains on the weekend? I don't care if it's raining, hailing, snowing or cycloning.
